Sports Bar Brand for Arc Inspirations
Following on from the successful completion of Box Sports Bar in the financial district of Leeds at the end of 2019, Manchester welcomed Box to the bustling Deansgate area of the city in the winter of 2021.
After 3 years in the design stage the completed scheme is a feature filled site that provides the Manchester bar scene with a quality and dynamic venue to enjoy sporting entertainment.
THE BRIEF
To give Deansgate a sports bar that created a real sense of WOW!
The site forms part of a multi-use commercial block and offered the opportunity to work over two levels to implement the Box interior scheme. It was essential that the Ground Floor spaces replicated the same visual aesthetics used in the Leeds venue so that brand continuity was achieved. The First Floor presented the chance to create something a little bit different, and provide the venue with a late-night cocktail styled interior that had the essence of a high end sports bar. It was a key requirement that the first floor needed to include plenty of seating booths for group bookings and give the space a luxurious and premium edge.
THE DESIGN
The Ground Floor space has been designed around a centrally located bar servery, antique brass finishes combined with black and white tiling, vibrant orange, yellow and green leathers, reclaimed brick, timber wall panelling, an array of bespoke light fittings and red neon signage gives the space a very distinctive look and feel. A suspended hexagonal rig with 6 large screens above the main seating area is a standout feature, and combined with a further 14 screens every angle has been covered for customers to enjoy uninterrupted sporting action.
An aspirational cocktail styled interior at First Floor combines a selection of plush materials and finishes that add a real premium edge to the venue. A beautifully crafted bar finished in dark timbers, brass and back lit onyx is the centrepiece of the space and provides the perfect backdrop for the highly skilled mixologists to prepare one of the many delicious cocktails on offer. The space has been split across two levels with the raised area benefitting from a series of large fully upholstered seating booths which overlook the lower area and bar servery. To give a sense of distinction between the levels a bespoke powder coated metalwork and dark timber balustrade screen has been installed, which captures detailed elements and pattern used throughout the first floor bar interior.
