Boutique Hotel in the heart of Wimbledon for Young's
As part of an ongoing hotel development programme by our client Young’s, Fusion By Design have successfully converted the former staff accommodation above the public house into 17 stunning boutique style bedrooms, ensuring that ‘The Dog & Fox Hotel’ now provides one of the best hotels in the area.
THE BRIEF
The brief from the client was to deliver a boutique hotel feeling to the rooms and the pub on the ground floor. As the hotel is located on a prominent corner of Wimbledon village, the concept combines the country and urban aesthetic that suits the location so well. Working alongside Young’s and fulfilling their desire to create more than a ‘pub with rooms’, Fusion By Design have been able to transform the spaces to provide a variety of comfortably sized guestrooms with en-suites, this is alongside several feature rooms, some of which provide the in room luxury of roll-top baths.
THE DESIGN
To deliver our concept we combined classic tweeds and tartan fabrics, using a contemporary colour palette to provide a modern edge to this historic building. Classic furniture pieces are utilised but upholstered in contemporary tailored fabrics to provide a modern twist. The focus of all the rooms are the generous beds and bespoke tartan covered feature headboards. Reclaimed furniture pieces are mixed with bespoke items and classic light fittings. Using a relatively neutral palette we have injected the scheme with colour in furniture pieces and artwork.
